Shy or Bold? Both?

The duo in the above picture by some may be considered the epitome of "modesty and pride" or a perfect example of "guilt and shameless." Each one of them is obviously very naked with the one on the left appearing to cover his genitalia as if he's ashamed of his nudity whereas the one on the right appears to be totally unconcerned as to whether he's naked or clothed.

Or could it be that both are completely at ease nude and simply that the man on the left is showing his comfort by posing in his usual stance?

A thought to ponder for us all as we admire the beauty and pride of two naked men!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

Friday Footnote: Having Sex In Your Childhood Home

Earlier this week, my blogging brother and buddy, Kishna, author of A Gayte Keeper I Am, published an entry on his site asking reader's reactions to a situation that occurred when he accompanied his boyfriend to his home for the winter holidays. Click the title to read the post and comments, Is Sex In Your Childhood Home Okay Or Disrespectful?  I read the post as I am familiar with both he and his boyfriend and was curious as to what prompted the posting.

Please read my friend's article before reading my foot-note here. Thanks! And before anyone gets the wrong idea, I'm not posting any images of two men having sex here. But I am showing a gif image of two men kissing!

This is a timely topic that I think affects many of us in the gay community. Due to the changing attitudes towards same gender love and the fluidity of marriage equality, this situation is probably more common than many of us realize. It can also create a resounding death-knell for many otherwise happy and stable relationships.

With marriage equality being a fairly recent phenomena that isn't widely available to all of us, the acceptance of gay relationships doesn't have the same legitimate or legal sanction for us as it does for same gender challenged couples. Therefore, families confronted with having a gay couple visit overnight or longer are confronted with their traditional beliefs being "put-to-the-test" by the reality "under their roof."

Of course, we all know that there is no fool-proof answer to this question. Family dynamics vary from household to household and no two families are identical. Everyone of us is inevitably going to have to base their decision on their particular family situation. This is especially true if there are to be other guests staying in the home during the same period.

In my own case, since Twin and I both came out during our teen-age years, it was always understood that when we brought a partner into the family home, that we'd sleep together. The first time that I met Aaron's parents, we didn't share the same bedroom. After we were married in August, 2015, it became a moot issue. We now share the same bed when we're at his parents.

As same gender loving couples, it is important, for the sake of harmony, that we respect the feelings of others while we're guests in their home. If we're legally married, then we can ask to be permitted to sleep together (share the same bed). If we're not married, then we should leave well enough alone.

Dilemma: Skinny-Dipping Controversy

WTF??????

A co-worker of my husband, Aaron, recently shared a thought with him: "People who swim naked in a pool aren't really skinny-dipping. Skinny-dippers always swim naked in natural bodies of water, like rivers and lakes."  This particular co-worker knows that we both prefer to be bare and we have actually seen him, clothes-free, at a few socially nude events.

When Aaron relayed this to me later, I asked how he responded. He stated that they argued over the comment and both agreed to disagree. Aaron then offered his summary of their discussion, specifically highlighting their disagreements.

I admit that I am of the same opinion as my husband. However, I do need to add that I've never had anyone provide such a narrow definition of skinny-dipping (swimming nude) before. Usually, everyone understands that swimming suit-free and skinny-dipping is essentially the same. Both are done without the benefit of any type of swim-wear.

As an example,of this controversy, the dude swimming in the image above is not skinny dipping because he's swimming in an artificial (man-made) body of water, a pool. The man swimming the the ocean in the header (lead photo) is skinny-dipping as he is swimming in a natural body of water, the ocean.

Aaron said to me that he'd never heard of anyone making such a distinction before. Skinny-dipping was simply skinny-dipping. It was swimming without any clothing or covering, period. In his mind, it doesn't matter what the body of water is; river, lake, sea, ocean or pool. I concur with Aaron on this point. It does seem to me the argument is like trying to split the proverbial pubic hair.

Swimming in any body of water without an actual swimsuit or any other type of covering (such as a pair of cut-off jeans, shorts, underwear, etc) is swimming bare and that to me is what constitutes skinny-dipping. Playing basketball is playing basketball, no matter if you're wearing an official team uniform, wearing a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt or wearing nothing at all. The concept is the same, no matter what the activity.

According to Aaron's co-worker, if skinny-dipping only happens within a natural body of water, then there are many man-made lakes and reservoirs that  host skinny-dipping events for the Guinness Book of Records that are conducting illegal competitions. These facilities are man-made and not naturally occurring. Therefore, no one is skinny-dipping and Guinness' recognition is invalid so therefore their entire "Book of Records" is a sham.

In the end, I suppose the entire argument over whether or not skinny-dipping occurs in a natural or man-made body of water is pointless. Ultimately, the final decision lies with the men who are really doing the swimming. If they believe that they are skinny-dipping, then they are. If, instead, they are just swimming bare, then they are doing just that. It is that simple. They are doing what they want to do, period.

Beauty Among the Ruins...

The beauty of the bare human body is limitless. It often stands in stark contrast to its surroundings as serves as a reminder of our own short time on this planet we call Earth, our home.

The above photo is one of poignant timelessness and intrigue. How many, from past years, stood bare on this exact same spot? While there, what were their private thoughts? The stones or blocks used to construct this structure have been here for centuries. Were any of the workers who helped create this relic nude during the building process?

How was their nudity perceived by their co-workers? Was their nudity one of pride or was it shadowed by shame? Were they naked by choice or was it punishment for a crime, real or imagined?

Did any of them who were without clothes engage in an amorous sexual encounter underneath these very same arches?

Just a few random thoughts as our winter draws to a close.

Question: Do Men With Body Hair Stay Warmer In Winter?

Some may think the question is totally asinine. As body hair is usually very fine in texture, how can it possibly keep anyone warm? After all, all that awesome fur, even on the most hirsute of men, isn't enough to offer comfort on the frigid days of the winter season. Or does it?

In the process of evolving, the original purpose of body hair was to retain body heat or to aid in perspiration to cool the body. Once humans began to wear clothing to protect the body from temperature extremes, the amount of body hair necessary diminished over time to what we see on men now.

The diversity in the amount and density of body hair we have today is a result of the geographic dispersion of our ancestors and our own genetic markers. Someone born close to one of the polar icecaps who suddenly moves to an equatorial climate is not going to change his density of body hair overnight or even in his lifetime. Evolution doesn't work that way.

The advent of clothing, over the course of many years (generations) has altered the necessity of body hair for staying warm during the cooler/colder times of the year. The result of this evolution has reduced the functional purpose of our hirsuteness. The result is that less and less body hair is required for the comfort (warmth) and the survival of our species, homo sapiens.

Many same gender loving men are attracted to men with body hair, yours truly included. As a nudist, I happen to prefer my man to be as natural as possible, and this includes his being hairy in all the "right" places: armpits, pubic area, and any chest hair that nature has endowed upon him. This is my personal preference.

I understand that others think and prefer otherwise and I respect their feelings and choices. A shaved or un-naturally hairless man just isn't attractive to me. However, to each his own preference.

Humor: Gift Dilemma

The Winter Holiday season is upon us. Many are baffled as to what to give to our same gender loving naturist/nudist friends during this time of the year. Surely, nothing to wear or otherwise conceal our nudity!  That would be the ultimate insult!

How about something that is truly appreciated and guaranteed to make the recipient of our gesture of friendship and love feel special and eternally in our debt?

Their very own live and very clothes-free nude dude! Please note: I'm not advocating kidnapping someone. Make sure beforehand that your live present is a willing participant in your holiday enterprise!

The perfect gift for all of our gay and naked buddies! The one item that needs no explanation and one that none of us would mind the shop until you drop theory. This is a gift that continues to delight and inspire all year long!

Happy shopping!

Peace!  Get naked. Enjoy!
