Photo-Blog: Nude Dudes November, 2015

November is a very fickle time of the year. It's as though the summer is struggling to maintain complete control of the temperature. The mornings can be chilly or cool, sometimes even downright cold. The sun miraculously pops out on the horizon and immediate sheds rays that begin to warm the air. My mid-day, the thermometer registers the rising heat and by early afternoon, it is quite pleasant and warm outside.

Many take advantage of the moderate temperatures and enjoy hikes bare on the trails through the woods. These are fine when in the direct sunshine, but often become chilly when in the shade provided by pine trees. Many will wear a jacket to bring comfort when hiking under the frequent shade. Then it becomes necessary to shed the garment when encountering a stretch of open space.

Regardless, there's no denying the thrill of being totally bare in the fresh air on a sun-filled November day! It's times like these that remind us all of the glory of being naked and carefree!

Besides, who knows when you may encounter another man doing the same! Nude friends are the best friends a man can have!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

About My Blog Signature

The official name of this blog is Guys Without Boxers. The reason is that when I have to absolutely wear underwear (and other items of clothing), I prefer the traditional boxer style. Otherwise, I am completely bare (naked, nude). I think most of those reading/visiting here are aware that my life preference is nudity: anytime, anywhere. Personally, being totally clothes-free offers the maximum comfort. That's the reason for both this blog title and for my blog signature.

As the author of Guys Without Boxers, my signature with each post is Bare With Pride. First, whenever I am am bare (naked, nude), I am also proud and confident. I feel no shame being without the false and unnatural covering of garments. I know that I don't have the perfect body, but I am comfortable with the body that I do possess. Secondly, I am not bothered in sharing my nudity with others, regardless if they are bare like me or fully clothed. The important fact to remember is that other men, underneath all their layers of pants, shirts, underwear, etc., are just as naked as I am.

Last but not least, I sign all posts as Bare With Pride, because that's the message that I want to convey to everyone who reads/visits here. As an advocate and ambassador for natural or bare living, I want to remind others to experience nudity with both confidence and pride. There is no reason for any discomfort or uneasiness over our nakedness. This is the way that we were born and, in my humble opinion, this is the ideal way to live.

Not only do I sign each entry with Bare With Pride, I add a few visuals to remind readers of my message. Among the many reasons I share this blog is to:
encourage: my same gender loving brothers and others to experience the clothes-free life
educate: all about the advantages, benefits and joys of social nudity
empower: same gender loving men and others to be bare with pride
enable: strengthen the bonds of our bare same gender loving brotherhood.

This graphic combines my bare buttocks with the colors of the same gender loving rainbow flag. It is framed within a triangle used by the Nazi Germans to identify homosexual inmates in concentration camps.

This logo lets everyone know that being bare is fine and fun.

I am a guy without boxers and urge everyone here to be the same.

I am naked/nude with confidence/pride and you should be, too!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

As this posting discusses my blogging signature, I'm concluding this entry with a photograph instead of my usual visuals.

Friday Footnote: Bare Leaves

One of the sure signs that Autumn is here. The hiking trails through the woods are covered underneath a fresh carpet of leaves. Get out and hike bare while you can. Overnight can bring a chill to the air that discourages going bare (at least, outdoors)!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

Armistice Day/ Remembrance Day/Veteran's Day

On November 11, 1918, at 11:00 a.m., the cessation of hostilities between the Allies and the Central Powers in World War I (at the time known as the "Great War") occurred. This event is hailed as the official end of that horrendous conflict. An armistice had been signed by all the belligerents that obliged the fighting to cease at that specific time. The carnage was, at last, after four long years, over.

It would be almost two years before the Treaty of Versailles was signed that officially recognized the Allied victory over the Central Powers. However, for the most part, the "war to end all wars" was finally finished. Those who had survived the gruesome battles could at last return home.

In the USA, the commemoration of this ending of fighting is observed as Veteran's Day. This is the time to salute all men and women, gay, bisexual or otherwise, who have served in both wartime and in peacetime in all branches of the American military. Those killed in action are remembered on Memorial Day, the final Monday of May, annually.

Since 2011, all who have served in the U.S. armed forces, regardless of their sexual orientation, have been included in Veteran's Day parades and services. The U.S. Congress repealed the ban on GLBT people openly serving in the military in December, 2010. President Barack Obama signed the act into law a day later.

Throughout the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, this date is known as Remembrance Day. On this day, all of those who sacrificed their lives in defense of their respective Commonwealth country are honored and remembered for their heroic service.

In the photograph above, H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, places a commemorative wreath of poppies at The Cenotaph honoring British and Commonwealth war dead. In the image below, H.R.H. Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, salutes during the memorial service.

The rest of the world observes this date as Armistice Day. It is celebrated for what it is, the day the fighting of the First World War ended.

Throughout the Commonwealth and much of the world, The Red Poppy symbolizes the sacrifice of those who died while in service of their country. This flower represents the fighting in the trenches that was the norm for most of World War I. It was immortalized in the poem(below) written by John McCrae (1872-1918) shortly before his death prior to the signing of the 1918 Armistice.

In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae

In Flanders field the poppies blow
between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunsets glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Guys Without Boxers: Bare With Pride salutes all veterans who have served their countries in peacetime as well as times of conflict. For all those heroic men and women who paid with their lives, we are all eternally grateful for your courage and valor.

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

Harmless Play Or Hurtful Folly?

Sometimes, we can be our own worst enemies without even realizing it and without any devious intentions. We react on the spur of the moment to a situation that happens and before we know it, our actions are blown entirely out of proportion and come back to bite us in our bare buttocks. Ouch!

Most of us are mature enough to understand that erections occasionally occur spontaneously without our permission. This happens when we least expect it, regardless of whether we're naked or fully clothed. It's one of the forces of nature that is beyond our control. Such as the case in the photograph above.

The guy on the right is a naturist/nudist, absolutely clothes-free except for his socks, shoes and hat. He's also sporting a noticeable erection. Some outside the same gender loving naturist/nudist community may argue that his penile reaction is due entirely to his nudity and as such, he "caused" his public erection. This may or may not be entirely true.

These pictures accompanying this post were taken at the 2015 Folsom Street Fair held annually in San Francisco, California. This city outlawed public nudity, except in special events, several years ago. The Folsom Street Fair is one of the events included in this exemption. Thus, both he and his friend are doing nothing illegal.

The guy just happened to grow visibly excited at an inopportune moment in time.

His friend (left), wearing boots, socks, sunglasses and a leather harness, became aware of his erection and decided to enjoy some "fun" at his buddies' expense. Perhaps he saw a camera pointed in their direction and thought to make this a lasting memory. Maybe he believed that by innocently poking humor and attention to his pals "growth" he could help "deflate" the predicament. Possibly the leather harness he's wearing is new and he felt bold and brazen while adorned in it. Or it could be he was responding to an impish impulse. Only he knows for certain why he reacted the way that he did.

Maybe their reaction was caused by the encouragement from the onlookers gathered around them. Since none of us were there at this particular moment, we'll never absolutely know the true reason of what transpired.

Their actions most arguably did make for a very public and popular photo opportunity for a number of photographers, both amateur and professional. Unfortunately, neither of the subjects of this unique "photo-shoot" have any control over the media access to their images. They most likely had no time to think to inquire as to how or where the pictures would be used. They were simply having too much "fun" during their "moment-in-the-sun."

Some have used the photos published here as an example of the depraved condition of the "homosexual agenda." Others have used it as fodder for a very public campaign to outlaw otherwise harmless events allowing social nudity. Needless to say, the "righteous right" proponents have ample ammunition and proof of the "moral decay" of both the same gender loving community and of naturist/nudist culture.

Given the probability that these two guys were both attending a special event where social nudity was permitted and the same gender loving community was being celebrated, I seriously doubt that causing a media uproar was part of their intention for doing what they did. I honestly cannot believe that they were intentionally seeking to discredit or to damage either one of these two communities. Given the comfort level both demonstrate with each others bodies, their familiarity with social nudity and the absence of any reluctance towards penis contact, I feel safe in the assumption that they're both members of the same gender loving naturist/nudist community who are out for an activity that positively promotes and represents both social groups.

In fact, the dude on the left was photographed in other groups at the same event and is caught on film "behaving" in a very civil manner in the additional images. More than likely, his actions above are just in jest and simply for the camera. Many people are emboldened when they know they're being photographed. Judge for yourself in the images contained below.

In the above picture, our friend is posed in front of a tent selling alcohol beverages and is acting as most of us would, just posing for the camera. Considering his proximity to the "cocktail" station, I think most of us expect or assume his behavior to be equally as promiscuous as it was in the first three images located at the beginning of this post.

These images reinforce my belief that as a same gender loving naturist/nudist man, he would do nothing to intentionally bring harm to either of our communities. The only matter that he is guilty of is being naked. However, as stated above, this event was included in the exemption granted by the local San Francisco government when it banned public nudity.

Once again, the same guy above, in a different area of the Folsom Street Fair and still calm, sober and in complete control of his faculties. Given the lack of attention his nakedness is creating among the participants surrounding him in either of these last two pictures, I am inclined to dismiss any disrespectful intentions on his part or that of his buddy above.

I believe they were both clothes-free because they could be bare and were merely acting in a harmless manner out of their fun-loving nature at the moment. Given the circumstances, their sense of what constitutes "fun" was certainly misguided. However, that conclusion is due to the benefits of hindsight and is most definitely not a judgment of either of the two nude dudes. At most, they are guilty of poor judgment.

I'm uncertain as to how I would react in an identical situation. My playfulness may even involve enacting behaviors much more graphic than merely massaging the penis of another and intimating oral gratification. None of us have the ability to say with any degree of accuracy exactly how we would respond.

From all of this attention in this matter, there is a lesson to be learned here. At the end of the day, we are all responsible for our actions and the effect they may have on our communities and our cultures. In a highly charged pre-election atmosphere here in the USA, they are many who use images such as the first three above to bring condemnation and criticism upon both our same gender loving and naturist/nudist communities. They will seize every opportunity to discredit us and further their own political agenda. These pictures are on the internet (which is where I found them) and are a part of the public domain.

No matter the intent or purpose of the photos, there are those who will interpret and use these for their own statements on the lewdness of our community. They, being our political adversaries, will present these as proof of our carnal irresponsibility and public lust.

My question for each of you reading here is this: do we, as a bare-loving, same gender loving community need to "censor" our behavior, playful or otherwise, so as not to give our detractors ammunition to condemn us?

Or, can we bare with pride and "play" with pride? Should we just carry-on as if nothing whatsoever is amiss?

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

Bottom-Shaming: Check This Out

My blogging buddy and friend, Kishna, the author of the blog, GayteKeeper, a few days ago published an excellent article calling for the end of bottom-shaming. This is the practice of marginalizing the passive (bottom) partner in a same gender loving relationship (hook-up) for the growing number of HIV infections.

For more than thirty years in the HIV/AIDS pandemic, we're still playing the counter-productive blame-game for the transmission of this disease. Instead of pointing fingers and trying to shift responsibility to others, we should all "man-up" and acknowledge our own culpability, work together and end this epidemic.

To read his excellent post, click on the direct link: It Is Time To End Bottom Shaming.

Thank you, Kishna, for your love and service to our same gender loving naturist/nudist community.

I strongly urge everyone to visit his site and to carefully read the posting!

Photo-Blog: Do Something Naked Today

Today is November 1, 2015, another Do Something Naked Today event. One suggestion, just lounge around in bed and take a few selfies of yourself bare. If for no other reason than because you actually can and we all know that we look good nude! Go ahead, get naked and grab your camera!

There's no need to be shy. You don't have to post your nudies anywhere except now you know they're available when you want them. Nothing like being prepared, right?

Feel the need to be a little more active? After a session of creating your selfies, fix yourself a nutritious breakfast while totally bare. Enjoy the fact that your skin is all that you're wearing go ahead and feed your appetite. There's nothing wrong with being bare because today is special: it's do something naked today and you're simply being patriotic. And you're being environmentally sensitive by reducing your laundry load!

Remember to text your friends and remind them that today is Do Something Naked Today! Send them a picture of yourself at your naked best (make those selfies work for themselves)! You just may be the one who makes today the beautiful beginning of a new national holiday!

And before you get too comfy back in bed, remember to text your nude buddies and ask that they join with you in becoming as bare as possible and to celebrate Do Something Naked Today! More than likely, it is too cool outside to do anything else, so strip off those clothes and have yourself a bare holiday!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!
