Recuperation Weekend

I think practically everyone now knows the results of the USA presidential and congressional elections. Aaron (my husband) and I worked very hard on the campaigns of our presidential choice and on the campaign of our local congressperson. Our presidential candidate, unfortunately, lost the election. Our congressperson won.

We're both taking a weekend off from our everyday lives to recuperate from our efforts and to rejuvenate ourselves for the struggles ahead. The GLBT community suffers from the results of the presidential and congressional choices. During this "renewal weekend," our comforting thought is that we'll be able to be completely bare the entire time. We're ordering room service for every meal and are excited about the time spent being clothes-free!

We're using this long weekend to adjust our attitudes and overcome our feelings of depression, disappointment, disbelief and disgust. Hopefully, we'll accomplish this in a weekend and return with courage, optimism and a renewed energy for the upcoming battles.

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

Remembrance Day/Veteran's Day/Armistice Day

On this date, November 11, 1918, an Armistice was signed that ended the Great War (World War I) between the Allied nations and the Central Powers. The agreement simply ended the hostilities (fighting) among the warring troops. The Treaty of Versailles, which was the document that concluded the war and established peace, was not signed until 1919. The United States never ratified that particular treaty although it did cease all wartime engagements against Germany, Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire.

This is the reason that for much of the world, today is observed as Armistice Day in honor of the cessation of hostilities at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Almost everywhere, memorial ceremonies are conducted at 11:00 a.m. In the United Kingdom and throughout the Commonwealth, today is known as Remembrance Day in honor of those who lost their lives in the service of both sovereign and country.

As the USA did not recognize but merely respected the signed armistice, this day is observed as Veteran's Day, recalling the efforts of all who served in the armed forces in this country.

The United Kingdom and British Empire, on the first anniversary of the Armistice, November 11, 1919, observed a universal ceremony commemorating the event as King George V led a wreath-laying service and the entire Empire observed a public moment of silence and reflection.

As many troops lost their lives in the horrific slaughter on the fields of northern France and Belgium, in a region known as Flanders, the poppy-flower was adopted as a symbol of remembrance and tribute. This tradition continues to this day.

In Flander's Fields

In Flander's fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flander's fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe;
To you, with failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flander's fields.

Poem by John McCrae who was killed on the Western Front (Flander's Fields) in 1918 during World War I.

As we all pause to commemorate and honor all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives, let us not forget the men and women who are currently serving, or have served, in our armed forces today. Our freedoms rest on their commitment to protect and defend. Many thanks to you all!

GLBT History Month Fridays and Nude Dudes

This is the second installment of Guys Without Boxers: Bare With Pride 2016 Friday feature for GLBT Bare History Month. This posting is also a segment of my monthly feature: Photo-blog: Nude Dudes for this month. The above photograph shows two bare men in a loving embrace. What better way to celebrate who we are than showcasing two men in love? This image dates from the early 1960s and predates the Stonewall Riots.

The above picture is of a man and the cabin of his truck. This guy is proud of his truck and the fact that he is able to be clothes-free. This image is from the middle 1960s.

This photograph is of a young man practicing a stance from his yoga class. There isn't too much here to help date the time period but the image quality suggests late 1950s to early 1960s.

Many people mistakenly believe that same gender loving male nudity is a very recent phenomenon. Humans have been enjoying nudity since the beginning of time and gays and lesbians are no different. The very fact that these men were able to be naked and to pose for these pictures lets us know that being clothes-free was widely appreciated more than fifty years ago.

Happy GLBT Bare History Month, 2016!

GLBT History Month Is Here!

October is GLBT History Month/Herstory Month!

Celebrate bare and with pride!

October is the month set aside to remember GLBT history here in the USA. Since 2009, it has been celebrated with a Presidential Proclamation, thank to President Barack Obama. Previous presidents avoided anything in the least way connected to our community.

On the upper-right hand corner of your screen, the above icon appears here at Guys Without Boxers: Bare With Pride during the entire month. Click on the icon daily to learn about this year's honored individuals from both our past and present. A different person is featured for each day of the month. Visit the site to also see who's been selected in previous years.

Throughout this month, every Friday posting will feature a selection of vintage photographs depicting bare same gender loving men from our past. Coming In October...

October arrives this upcoming Saturday and that means the beginning of a month-long commemoration of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) History Month. In the USA, this time is observed to raise public awareness and understanding of the many contributions that the GLBT community has made in our daily lives. In is a time to commemorate our past, celebrate our present and to envision our future.

Here, at Guys Without Boxers: Bare With Pride, the four Fridays of this month will feature a pictorial posting of moments of same gender loving bare moments from our past. The photographs do not necessarily depict any historical personage, but instead they remind us that same gender love isn't a concept of recent years but a love and a lifestyle that has endured for centuries. Contrary to current teachings and rantings of the fundamental extremists clergy, same gender love and an appreciation for living nude has been a part of the human experience since the dawn of humanity.

The photographs that will publish on the October Fridays aren't mine. They are among the images that I have saved over the past year for the purpose of posting here. They were collected from the public domain of the internet and not supplied by any one individual or commercial source.

As a means of celebrating our GLBT community's present during our history month, A Guy Without Boxers: Bare With Pride will publish an interview with one of my favorite gay nude bloggers, Jerome. In this interview, he'll share with us a little about his background on nudity, on being gay and about his blogging. In addition, he's included some fantastic photos of himself that clearly demonstrate his confidence in being both gay and clothes-free! This post is tentatively scheduled for publication on Wednesday, October 19.

I am thankful to Jerome for his collaboration on this endeavor and am eager to introduce him to all of you. He does our same gender loving bare community proud! I'm so excited over this project that I'm sharing one picture of his nakedness below!

Jerome is not only proud to be bare, he also isn't ashamed or embarrassed about sharing his nudity with others. A perfect example of a man who's living his life openly and honestly. He's an ideal inspiration for us all!

I'm pleased to add an "interview" component to the features of Guys Without Boxers: Bare With Pride. Any of my blogging brothers interested in being a part of this process, please email me: barewithpride@gmail.com.

Visit My Adult Blog (NSFW)

This year (2016), I began publishing an adult (NSFW) blog dealing almost exclusively with posts regarding same gender loving (gay) sex and sexuality. The name of this site is ReNude Pride. To visit the blog, click on the title and you will be linked to it.

I generally post on ReNude Pride every Sunday. I'm experimenting with some different formats but the weekly post schedule seems to work best for me. It doesn't conflict with my plans for  Guys Without Boxers: Bare With Pride. Please feel free to comment on any of the posts there by accessing the "comment" icon below each individual post entry. To contact me on any issues about ReNude Pride, please email me at: renudepride@gmail.com.

The content of ReNude Pride is sexually explicit and the majority of the featured images are of a sexually graphic. The focus and targeted population is completely of interest to the same gender loving male community.

Guys Without Boxers: Bare With Pride continues to promote and provide resources and information for the same gender loving male naturist/nudist community.

In Memory...

In memory of all those murdered and injured at the brutal tragedy at the Pulse Club,

Orlando, Florida, USA.

How much longer, America, will we continue to allow the innocent to be needlessly slaughtered by the irresponsible owners of guns?

How many have to die?

Black lives matter. GLBT lives matter. ALL lives matter!
