Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2016

The best aspect of this traditional day for disguises is that all it takes is a simple mask for a naturist/nudist to join in the seasonal festivities. Conceal your face but no other part of your bare body! Convenient yet maybe a little chilly considering the season of the year.

The gay community has always been enthusiastic in celebrating the Halloween holiday. Costume parties, costume contests, high-heeled races and drag shows have long been featured as part of the traditional offerings. Everyone competes in trying to better others in creating the most original and the most extravagant costume.

Since the early 1980's and the emergence of many same gender loving social naturist/nudist groups, these organizations usually host bare Halloween gatherings for the benefit of their members and guests. Many mainstream nudist groups do the same for their mixed-gender clientele. The result being that now, most gay nudists have many opportunities to participate in a variety of bare celebrations.

A plus for any male clothes-free enthusiast is the fact that just an inexpensive Halloween mask is all that's necessary to gain entrance to these socials. That and, of course, pride in being both same gender loving and completely naked!

Commercial body-paints likewise offer unlimited prospects for a variety of Halloween disguises for the gay or bisexual nudist. All that's necessary are the body paint, a creative imagination and a friend to hepl cover your body. For many of those who are single and unwilling to allow a friend to have access to sensitive anatomical areas, simply decorating the front part of your body is acceptable.

Body paints are found in most Halloween-supply retailers, theatrical make-up suppliers and in larger retail establishments. For first-time users, purchase what's available and then decide on "who" you want to become. It is recommended that only non-toxic and non-allergenic products be used. Cover only a small area of your skin first and then wait an hour to ascertain that your body doesn't react to the make-up/body paint selection.

Happy Halloween!

Be safe!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

Photo-Blog: Bottoms-Up! October, 2016

Bottoms-Up!

End of October, 2016

The last day of October, 2016, isn't until tomorrow, October 31, which is also Halloween. In order to celebrate the horrible hauntings, we're observing Bottom-Up! for this month today instead. So get your beautiful buttocks up-in-the-air as we mark the end of the first full month of Autumn, 2016!

It is during this month that those tell-tale tanlines begin to fade away. The perfect solution to avoid this issue in the future is to bare your bodacious-buns (buttocks) all during the preceding summer. By doing so, you'll have a nice, even tan all over your bare body!

In honor of the upcoming Halloween festivities, our man above has a painted pumpkin-face proudly marked on his ass cheeks! A early Halloween greeting to all!

If anyone is still wondering about a personal decoration for observing Halloween, the above image is a simple suggestion. A simple black-ink marker is all the material that you'll need. Of course, you'll also require a willing friend to design the pumpkin-face on your buttocks! No doubt you'll have no problem in soliciting volunteers for that task!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

GLBT History Month Friday: A Salute

Locker Room Camaraderie and Nudity!

This is the final Friday of October, 2016: GLBT Nude History Month. For many of our naturist/nudist brothers in the past, the locker-room was only one of the few occasions where they could be happy and bare in the company of others. For some, it was the only time where they could fraternize clothes-free in a masculine environment.

Same gender loving relationships had to be concealed from family and neighbors because in almost every state such relationships were illegal and the punishments were severe. Establishments usually refused service to any male couple, regardless of how "normal" the couple appeared or acted. There were only limited social opportunities available in the larger urban areas and virtually none whatsoever in rural communities.

The world looked very distorted and out of place for many of our GLBT community "back-in-the-day." Friendships and truths were shared with only a trusted few and even then a man could never be completely sure that his secret would remain respected.

Equally secretive was any type of intimacy, sexually or socially, between the men of different races. In the American South, this was actually against the law and throughout other regions of the USA it was just not tolerated by the mainstream society.

However, our forbears in the GLBT community weren't without resourcefulness and often found ways to circumvent both the law and the established taboos of society. Some were caught doing so and punished, but somehow gay life managed to surreptitiously survive and in some cases, survive.

To all of our same gender loving naturist/nudist predecessors, we honor you and salute you for your bravery, fortitude and determination. Your efforts paved the road that we all travel down today!

Happy GLBT Nude History Month, 2016!

Reduce Your Stress: Be Bare And Proud!

I'm confused! Remind me why we're all naked.

Sometimes we all wonder exactly why we're bare when the rest of the world insists on covering themselves with layers of clothing. It can become exasperating especially when they are to ones who ridicule us for our preference for nudity. However, always remember, it is not who stress over the minor incidents of dressing identically!

Keep this thought in mind while perusing the scenario below:

We're all wearing just our own skin and nothing else. When we're socially nude, there's no stress involved because we're the same, clothes-free and proud. Our nudity is a great equalizer as there's no judgment involved over expensive and fashionably chic clothing labels. Our skin, on all of us, is divinely inspired and created.

No heads will roll at a nudist party!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

October's Bright Blue Weather

October's Bright Blue Weather
by Helen Hunt Jackson

O suns and skies and clouds of June,
and flowers of June together,
Ye cannot rival for one hour,
October's bright blue weather.

When loud the bumble-bee makes haste,
belated, thriftless, vagrant,
And golden-rod is dying fast,
and lanes with grapes are fragrant.

When gentians roll their fringes tight
to save them for the morning,
And chestnuts fall from satin burrs,
without a sound of warning;

When on the ground red apples lie
in piles like jewels shining,
And redder still on old stone walls
are leaves of woodbine twining;

When all the lovely wayside things
Their white-winged seeds are sowing,
And in the fields, still green and fair,
Late aftermaths are growing.

When springs run low, and on the brooks,
In idle golden freighting,
Bright leaves sink noiseless in the hush
of woods, for winter waiting;

When comrades seek country haunts,
by twos and threes together,
And counts like misers, hour by hour,
October's bright blue weather.

O suns and skies and clouds of June,
Count all your boasts together,
Love loveth best of all the year
October's bright blue weather.

The above poem is one of my favorites for expressing the colorful wonders of the autumn time of year. The vibrant foliage of the dying leaves against the background of a crisp blue sky is the envy of all visual artists. I always mourn the passing of summer but likewise admire the beauty of autumn.

Early Autumn Hike

The Autumn season is now underway and here in the mid-Atlantic region of the USA, the leaves are slowly beginning to change their color. The Fall Foliage time of year is now just beginning. The peak (prominent) time is expected in this area during the final full week of October.

For the past ten years, maybe longer, I usually take a nature hike the first weekend in October. This has become a habit that includes a few close naturist/nudist friends for a natural outing during the daylight hours. We hike along a familiar trail generally leaving in the late morning and not returning to our vehicles until the late afternoon.

Our hiking is broken-up by frequent stops to allow for a brief rest, water and snacks. During this time we enjoy games such as charades, body-tag and a football and/or frisbee toss. If there are enough of us hiking on that day, we sometimes divide into teams, identifying ourselves with a brush of body paint on our penis to distinguish which team we are on. As you can imagine, the penis-painting aspect does lend itself to some very interesting moments!

Each couple packs their own picnic lunch and each person is responsible for his own back-pack. Aaron (my husband) and I have a well-stocked portable first-aid kit that we always bring. As Aaron is an emergency-room nursing supervisor and I teach first-aid for our local chapter of the Red Cross, the supply-kit duty comes to the both of us naturally.

Unfortunately, this year, the Eastern Seaboard of the USA was under hurricane alerts for the weekend that we had scheduled our hike. The Saturday our adventure was planned was a complete "wash-out" as it rained the entire day. Our area had a total of 6 inches of rainfall during that 24-hour time period. The hurricane did not make landfall in our area but we suffered powerful winds in addition to the rain. Ironically, the following day, Sunday, October 9, was completely sunny and warm, but the ground was too muddy to even attempt a hike.

Even though our hiking outing this year was a complete "wash-out," Aron and I did salvage some of our plans for social nudity. On that day, we invited a neighbor same gender loving couple over to our apartment/condominium to eat lunch and play board games. They recently (this year) moved into our condo-complex and this event was to be their first publicly bare (nude) event. We had another gay couple over as well and the six of us spent the afternoon together, totally clothes-free and dry. They all became friends as we substituted boredom for baredom! Nothing removes social anxiety faster than taking the clothes off and everyone hanging out naked together! Sometimes showing some skin helps to open us up to new friendships!

Author's Note: The photograph above is of me hiking bare back in October, 2010. It was taken by Aaron when we had no idea that we would be married within five years!

GLBT History Month Fridays: Couples

October Is GLBT History Month!

Celebrate ourselves and our Bare, Same Gender Loving Heritage!

This blog, Guys Without Boxers: Bare With Pride, observes our GLBT History Month by saluting not only our gay legacy but our naturist/nudist heritage as well. Our collective and communal past is nothing to be ashamed about. It is a bold statement about who and what we are!

This week features images of not only our sexuality but the men we love! There's a common thought within our GLBT community that no one can really love a man like another man. I believe that to be true and so here are pictures that document our love of men! Love is much more than just the sexual act and the illustrations here demonstrate that fact.

The men here are from various generations and from past days and times. Together, these brave souls reflect the courage that gay men exhibited during a time when humanity paid little attention to the validity and dignity of same gender love. Not only was sex between two men illegal, often socializing between the races was illicit, too.

My husband, Aaron, and I sometimes discuss and marvel at the bravery and determination that it took, not that many years ago, for our GLBT predecessors to simply be with the man they loved. We likewise wonder if we would have the courage to do the same.

Be proud of who we all are and our ability to be nude together! Happy GLBT History Month, 2016!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!
