Photo-Blog: Bottoms-Up! December, 2016

A Nudecentric Landscape

Bottoms-Up! to 2016

Not only is it the end of the month for December, it also happens to be the final day of all of 2016! This post is a salute to all the bold men who dared to bare themselves and their beautiful buttocks throughout the year!

Furry Heaven

Some may find delight in a masculine bottom encased in a pair of tight jeans. Most of us who prefer social nudity know that it is the bare-bottom that always takes the prize! The "hanging fruit" is for many, a true treat!

"Stackable" Bottoms-Up!

Bottoms-Up! "booties" (buttocks) are usually an "eye-candy" sight for most of us same gender loving men but they are especially nice as a "stackable" treat!

A Hand-Full"

A bare Bottoms-Up! is a desirable reward to have and to hold onto, especially on a chilly winter morning!

"Pride"

So today is THE day to bare yours now and confidently display all your pride in being bare by elevating yours high in the air!

Happy Nude Rear!

So bare your bottom and have yourself a Happy Nude Rear!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

Photo-Blog: Nude Dudes, December, 2016

The Nude Dudes, December, 2016, have donned a little of their "elf apparel" in order to offer each of you some Holiday cheer! Just remember, they are all still proud of being bare even without the festive trimmings! The accessories are merely to add a "special touch" for the Winter Holiday season!

Evidently, Santa Clause decided to abandon his reindeer and sleigh this year and performing his traditional duties on his bicycle instead! Ho-ho-ho!

This Nude Dude, pictured above, is decorating his holiday-themed tree in lieu of wearing any elf-related attire! But then, his profile is in addition to the holiday tree so the time of year is in plain view of everyone.

Have a nice, bare yuletime!

Get Your Rest!

There's no denying it, the winter holiday season is fast-paced, chaotic and very frantic. The shopping alone, even the weekly task of buying groceries is a daunting challenge. Then add in the extra food supplies needed to prepare all those holiday goodies and it becomes a major undertaking.

Next is the bustle and hustle of shopping for everyone's gift. Braving the crowds, finding a parking space, navigating through the traffic and then the endless walking through the malls, shopping centers or even one store require patience, tolerance and quite a bit of extraordinary breathing techniques. Don't forget the actual selection of your purchase and the long lines waiting to pay for your gifts. The very survival of these ordeals warrants a medal and notable recognition.

Then comes the never-ending rounds of office socials, the holiday gatherings of neighbors and organizations, friends and of course family obligations. At times, it seems as though every waking moment is consumed with the holiday celebration; and, the holidays haven't even arrived here yet!

The accompanying chores of cooking, baking and gift wrapping, fortunately, can usually be done while in the relative peace and safety of our homes but are time-consuming and also have a time-line of their own.

The stress level peaks. When the pressure becomes too great, someone, somewhere, always manages to find one more task that needs to be done. It seems like there is no relief for the weary and over-burdened.

That is why it is so important for us to pace ourselves and make sure that we have enough time for not only ourselves but also our spouse, partner or significant other. We're only human, after all, and we all need time to relax and unwind and release the stress. We need to take the time and make sure that we are getting enough sleep.

With so many responsibilities and only a limited amount of time, many of us compensate by reducing the amount of time allocated to sleeping. In the back of our minds, we justify this by deluding ourselves that we'll somehow "catch-up" on our sleep after the holidays are over.

However, we all know that we can never balance sleep-deprivation. It isn't possible. And most importantly, it isn't healthy.

With all the additional errands that we're rushing around trying to complete, we're travelling, even locally, more than normal. And distracted driving (yes, lack of sleep is a distraction) is hazardous not only for ourselves but also every other driver on the roads we traverse.

The lack of sleep impairs our judgment and causes us to take risks we would otherwise not take. When operating a motor vehicle, this alone can be a fatal or, at best, harmful to not only ourselves but others as well.

It also creates inattentiveness, affects our ability to focus and increases our susceptibility to stress. We're less able to make make rational decisions and to resolve conflicts. We become short-tempered and argumentative.

Not attributes that any of us need during the winter holidays.

Do everyone, especially yourself, a favor. Get plenty of sleep!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!

Practice Kindness

During this especially hectic time of the year, it is always important to keep in mind that there are many all around us who are not as fortunate as we are. For whatever reason, they are the ones who are in serious need of our thoughts and kindnesses throughout the winter holiday season (if not the entire calendar year).

Some may suffer from depression. Others may feel overwhelming loneliness. Many experience daily hunger and homelessness. There are many who simply lack the basic life skills necessary enjoy full, healthy and productive lives. There are some who have outlived all of their family and friends and are in danger of losing the desire and will to continue living. There are innumerable human conditions and situations that others experience on a daily basis that we cannot imagine.

During this cheerful and happy time of the year, we all need to be reminded of their existence and of their needs. A large number of persons living with depression are unaware of their condition and think depression is merely a part of life that must be endured.

A number of these persons simply need someone to see them as "human" and offer to them the same consideration that most of us give to our family, friends and co-workers. Sometimes, a smile and a greeting alone will transform their day from mundane to wonderful.

My World AIDS Day, December 1, 2016, Pride!

World AIDS Day was last Thursday, December 1. This post is to remind us all that we are all living in a world that is affected by HIV/AIDS and to share with you what my World AIDS Day was like. I've written here previously that I volunteer (not paid) with a local AIDS service organization. This group serves as a resource to persons (both genders and all races, faiths and sexual orientations), and as an advocacy service between the AIDS community and the municipal government.

I intentionally designed my academic schedule this year to allow me to volunteer every Tuesday and in the evenings when needed. This enables me to not only help with the community but also gives me flexibility in assisting persons who depend on this organization for services in their daily lives.

This year, the organization hosted a World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil during the early evening of December 1. This was the first such event sponsored by this group in several years. Because of the stigma surrounding such activities (too depressing, etc.) and because of the perception of all World AIDS Day services as being memorials, they had stopped holding any type of activity for this date.

About the middle of November, I asked the agency director what was planned for World AIDS Day. She responded that nothing was scheduled and cited the above reasons. She also added that she was very disappointed that there was no interest in hosting one. I volunteered to organize one if she would endorse it. She enthusiastically and immediately agreed.

The very same day of our conversation, I set out to encourage support for this endeavor. I enlisted the assistance of the staff (both professional as well as volunteers like myself) and encouraged the group that I facilitate on Tuesdays to share information on the upcoming event and to help make the red ribbon awareness pins to distribute during the vigil.

I decided to keep the program simple and brief, due to the shortage of time between the middle of November and the actual date. There was no need to expend the energy in trying to compile an elaborate presentation in such a short space of just two weeks.

World AIDS Day, December 1, 2016, arrived with remarkable speed. On the day of the program, I had no idea as to the number of people to expect but everyone invited to be a part of the observance contacted me that day to confirm their participation. The weather cooperated with warmer-than-average temperatures and no chance of precipitation at dusk. At this point, all that was left for me to do was sit back, relax and wait for the sun to begin to set.

The event was scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. It was being held outside in the hopes that once the candles were lit, any passers-by would join us to find out what was happening. By 5:45 p.m., I and a handful of others were in place and ready. The dozen or so of us there stood around and waited.

With minutes to spare, people materialized from the four directions! I was amazed to see them walk on-site as if choreographed. It was a very encouraging sight to behold. I really began to feel good about my efforts to organize this vigil, although it was all very last-minute.

One of the organization's clients was our guest speaker and she delivered a powerful message of hope that concluded with a poem that she had written specifically for this occasion. After she completed her portion, her 15-year-old son, who just "came-out" to her this past summer, sang, a capella, Elton John's classic, "Candles In The Wind." At the conclusion, everyone lit their candles and joined in the spiritual, "We Shall Overcome." A local clergy-person concluded the program with a prayer for the healing of HIV/AIDS.

Despite having organized the event, I was surprised at how humbled and, at the same time, empowered I felt at the ending. It was followed by a feeling of pride of "a job well-done."

Remembering Pearl Harbor...

Pearl Harbor Day

"Day of Infamy"
December 7, 1941-December 7, 2016

75th Anniversary

In the USA, today is Pearl Harbor Day. On this date in 1941, the Japanese Empire attacked the U. S. Pacific Ocean fleet while it was moored inside Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This event marked the end of U. S. neutrality during World War II. The following day, then-U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt addressed the joint houses of the Congress, calling the attack "dastardly," and asked for a resolution stating that a state of war now existed between the USA and Japan. Thus, this country entered into World War II alongside the British Empire against the combined forces of Japan, Italy and Germany.

The unprovoked attack on the American fleet caused more than 1,800 deaths to American sailors, airmen and civilians. All eight battleships of the Pacific fleet were damaged. Most were repaired and returned to service, Two were sunk and never recovered, the most famous one being the USS Arizona, with the wreckage serving as a lasting memorial to all those who died aboard her.

The image above (above) shows the USS Arizona Memorial as it appears today. The memorial is located above the sunken remains of the battleship. The wreckage serves as the graves of those killed on December 7, 1941.

The image (below) shows sailors standing at attention saluting the Arizona Memorial in the background.

I have often wondered about the same gender loving servicemen who lost their lives in the Pearl Harbor attack. How it felt to be in the midst of a battle defending a country that criminalized your expressing love for the man you truly loved and knowing you were about to die for the same country.

What were their final thoughts before their death?

Eternal rest for all those killed in the attacks of December 7, 1941.
