I've been thinking lately...
Why is it that when heterosexual couples engage in public displays of affection (PDA), it's always considered romantic, cute, adorable and appropriate? No one seems to have any problem regardless of how much they paw, pet and caress each other and where they do it. I've observed countless couples while shopping, commuting to and from work or dining out. Some couples look and act as though they have nothing left to do but to have intercourse in full view of everyone.
Yet let a same gender loving couple simply holding hands enter into the picture and automatically those same, identical behaviors become obscene, despicable and shameless.
I understand that PDA among same gender loving couples is a recent phenomenon. Not all people are in favor of marriage equality. Some folks view same gender love as sinful and the devil's work. I know all this and wonder where do these folks get off?
Regardless of their personal beliefs, marriage equality is the law of the land. You may not support or approve of gay/lesbian marriage or even of their love, but that is your personal belief. Not everyone feels or thinks the same as you. And it is not up to you to comment on the beliefs of others.
So kindly keep your judgments and remarks on others to yourself. Thank you!
