World Naked Gardening Day: May 7, 2016

This upcoming Saturday, May 7, 2016,

WORLD NAKED GARDENING DAY

In case you missed out on spending Earth Day (April 22) bare, another opportunity to strip off your clothes and show Mother Nature that yes, I do care about our natural world is this Saturday, May 7, 2016. This is the 12th year of World Naked Gardening Day. This event was first commemorated in 2005. In 2007, the date was changed from September to May and in that year it was observed on Saturday, May 5. Ever since, World Naked Gardening Day (WNGD) is held on the first Saturday in May.

Of course, not all of us own an estate the size of the one in the above photograph nor the ability to mow it nude. However, that doesn't mean that we can't celebrate WNGD. Aaron and I live in a small condo. Every year, we invite other bare same gender loving couples over with a few of their indoor plants and we host our WNGD "replanting party" on our small balcony. We transplant our indoor plants into larger pots out on the balcony and afterwards, we serve a brunch (prepared by Aaron) and admire our handiwork.

For more information about this event and for ideas, visit: World Naked Gardening Day.

Seasonal Interchange
by Michael Aidken

In Winter, when the trees are bare,
We mortals don our winter wear.

In Spring, when trees begin to dress,
We mortals then start wearing less.

Until, for some, with Summer's heat,
the role reversal is complete.

Happy World Naked Gardening Day!

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!
